Ownership and Usage - January 2022
Sales of home automation remained strong in the second half of 2021, increasing 16% over 2020 during the June-November period. As expected, security cameras remained the most widely used home automation product with 23% of households reporting ownership. Ownership levels remained stable for other high market share categories including smart thermostats (15% of households reporting ownership), plugs and outlets (15%), and smart doorbells (14%).
