WiZ Launches Motion Sensing Lights
Home Automation company WiZ is introducing an innovative home monitoring feature that maximizes the capabilities of their motion-sensing Wi-Fi smart bulbs. With the addition of a new indoor security camera priced at $70, called WiZ Home Monitoring, you can receive alerts regarding potential intruders in your household. By using WiZ's unique SpaceSensing feature, which detects alterations in Wi-Fi signal strength caused by movement, the system can activate or deactivate the lights and notify you through the WiZ app whenever motion is detected.
The WiZ Home Monitoring Starter kit, comprising three WiZ A19 full-color smart bulbs and one camera, will be released on June 15th at a cost of 159.99 Euro. The pricing for the United States market has yet to be determined.

- Along with the rollout of Matter, home automation brands are starting to branch out into new product categories. While smart lighting products on their own are not necessarily pure security devices, the combination of WiZ’s unique features and new security camera adds new features and capabilities to the standard DIY security system.
Netatmo Launches an AC Controller
Netatmo has unveiled a new device that enhances the capabilities of air conditioners and heat pumps through HomeKit compatibility and other features. The Smart AC Controller, which can be installed within 10 minutes, allows users to conveniently regulate their air conditioner using Siri, Alexa, and Google Home. The Smart AC Controller integrates with nearly all air conditioners equipped with an infrared remote featuring a screen. This includes a wide range of modern window, portable, and split A/C units, as well as heat pumps.

- With energy conservation top of mind for many consumers, Netatmo’s new AC Controller will appeal to households without traditional central heating or cooling systems. While smart thermostats accomplish some of this functionality, in homes where the thermostat cannot be switched out (or where there is not a thermostat) Netatmo’s controller is a simple solution for smart climate control.
