Amazon Releases New Alexa Devices
At Amazon’s 2025 fall hardware event, the company featured Alexa+, its upgraded AI assistant with new agentic capabilities that can autonomously complete tasks like making orders and scheduling appointments. Additionally, Amazon unveiled four new Echo devices to go with the Alexa+ upgrade including the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio, the The Echo Show 8 and 11 smart displays and new Kindle and Fire TV products. All devices will support Alexa+ and are available for preorder.
The Circana Take:
- The improvements to Alexa+ will be key in driving consumer interest in Amazon’s new crop of hardware. The larger opportunity for the company will be in recurring revenue connected to Alexa+ subscriptions and upsells for newer, more robust models to power the voice assistant.
Ecovacs Ups the Ante on Intelligence
Ecovacs’ new Deebot X11 OmniCyclone robot vacuum introduces agentic AI via “Agent Yiko,” allowing it to make autonomous cleaning decisions. Unlike traditional voice assistants, Agent Yiko learns user habits and adapts routines without daily input. It can detect floor types, suggest optimal settings, and correct poor user choices. Designed to reduce repetitive commands, it streamlines interaction and enhances cleaning efficiency.
The Circana Take:
- Though most robotic vacuums are smart, expect more devices to tout their AI abilities to differentiate in this growing market. With some recent devices featuring robotic arms to pick up and move objects, increased intelligence paired with more advanced features will increase the appeal of this category.
