2021 was a strong year for home automation sales amid a banner year for technology sales as a whole. As consumer technology industry revenue reached $127B, a 9% increase over an historic 2020, home automation revenue grew 20%. While many of the same use cases around monitoring, convenience, and efficiency continued to drive sales in 2021, the entrance of new brands and a more diverse range of products and price points has helped to drive increased unit volume and attract new groups of buyers to the market.
