Profile Report

The Wearables Profile Report provides a side-by-side view of different consumer profiles, offering an easy way to view differences among the consumer base. The report leverages the same data as the Ownership and Usage reports.

This latest version of the report has been expanded to provide information on third party apps that consumers may use on their smartwatches.

Note: Updated Oct 17, 2022 to correct Household size error, and to add smartwatch purchase intent among current owners.

Usage Report - October 2022

As we saw in the Ownership report, the consumer base for smartwatches increased from just over 31 percent to 38 percent of the US adult population in the past six month, driven by new sales (and older devices being passed down to friends and family, or re-sold) as well as a migration from activity trackers. And we expect this latter category to continue to fuel smartwatch ownership growth, with roughly 40 percent of activity tracker customers planning to upgrade to a smartwatch in the next year.

Promotions Marketplace -

NPD Connected Intelligence’s new Promotions Marketplace report is a monthly updated tracker providing insights into a wireless carrier and national distributor's promotional incentive practices. The report provides a detailed list of all promotional activities captured via NPD’s retail and online store visits conducted on a periodical basis. Captured promotions are categorized (i.e., service plan, accessories, device discounts, BOGOs, Gift Cards, etc.) and dated (start date/end date) for easy navigation and analysis purposes.

Service Plans Marketplace - September 2022

The NPD Connected Intelligence Service Plans Marketplace Report provides a complete view of all mobile broadband service plans offered by the nationwide postpaid and prepaid carriers. This report features each carrier's service plans on smartphones and mobile broadband products in separate tabs, which provides sectional navigation to postpaid and prepaid plans. The data is gathered from multiple sources (online and retail store surveys) during the last week of each month.

Mobile Device Marketplace - September 2022

NPD Connected Intelligence's Device Marketplace report provides a comprehensive view of the US mobile device landscape through the online tracking of mobile phones and other cellular-powered products such as tablets and mobile hotspots. The monthly updated report provides device spec and pricing information on the afforementioned products available through all major postpaid and prepaid service providers' digital channels as well as national distributor outlets (including Best Buy, Walmart, Target online stores) and manufacturer direct online store of Apple.

Marketplace Report - September 2022

The Home Automation Marketplace quarterly report provides guidance on product design and product strategies. It provides item level product detail – including product attributes and average selling prices – of the home automation products currently selling at retail. Eight product categories are included: security cameras, smart entry, smart lighting, sensors, system controllers, smart power, item trackers, and kits.
